This contemporary music interview program (hosted by Blake Aaron and Tina Anderson) can be heard every Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m. on Jazz FM 88.5 KSBR and many other jazz stations across the country. The Radio Campaign Heats Up! "Face To Face" makes it onto the national smooth jazz charts. Some of the good stuff this week:
There was a reported ADD at Groove Jazz from KORL/Honolulu, and a DEBUT onto the Smooth Indie chart at #50. AND a DEBUT into CHARTBOUND on the JazzWeek album chart. We also got an ADD from KOKY/Little Rock, AR...Nice to see some of those positive moves forward. We'll keep you posted as more news comes in.....
On Wednesday, August 25th, The Professor and his trio will appear at Spaghetttini's, a top music venue in Seal Beach (Orange County). This show will be in conjunction with KSBR, which has been playing "Face To Face" in pretty heavy rotation. The show starts at 7 p.m.
In week 4, Professor RJ Ross' Face To Face CD continues to get more adds and spins from top stations! KSBR in Orange County has continued their early jump on the record spinning "Face To Face" 8 times this past week. Seeing a great number of spins (11) from WVSU in Birmingham which is an important reporting station. KORL in Honolulu WUMR in Memphis have also jumped on the record. KCOZ in Branson and WEIB in Springfield, MA are bolstering their support of the record giving you 16 and 12 spins this week respectively. Also, KTSU in Houston is spinning both songs, as they are a half jazz/half smooth jazz station.
Stations and spins are continuing to rise with you being among the most added on R&R/Billboard Indicator. Some of the stations that are tough to get have jumped on your record early, which is a good sign of things to come.

Two shows coming up for the Professor. One solo, and one with his band, The University of Soul. Both shows are at Sheba Lounge, on Fillmore Street in the jazz district of San Francisco.
The solo performance is on Wednesday, February 24th, from 7:30 PM to 10:30. RJ's performance with his trio, The University of Soul, is on Friday, March 5th, from 9:30 PM to 12:30.

Back by popular demand! The Professor returns to Sheba Piano Lounge in San Francisco on Thursday, Jan. 21st, from 8PM to 11PM. He played there a few weeks ago and it was a great night.
The club is located in the beautiful Jazz district on Fillmore Street, one block from Yoshi's. There's plenty of public parking nearby. It's a cosy club with a fireplace and elegant furniture. A real nice, intimate place for music.

Last week, RJ's show at The Revolution Cafe in San Francisco was quite a hit! The management has asked him to come back in August and also to play their other music venue The Socha Cafe.

The Academy Award Nominated actress, Sally Kellerman, has asked Professor RJ Ross to sing a duet with her for her upcoming CD. The song will be produced by Val Garay. Val has had tons of hits, including the 6th biggest selling record OF ALL TIME, Bette Davis Eyes. BTW, Sally is a great singer and we'll keep you posted on the release date for her CD.
Professor RJ Ross and The University of Soul has just signed a marketing deal with Mark Sterling, of Sterling Artists Management in Los Angeles. The campaign will initially focus on internet marketing and Adult Standard radio.
